| Energía When driving throughout southern Spain, we noticed all of the renewable energy systems that where in place from the wind turbines interlaced with the historical wind mills to the solar farms located just outside of many of the small villages. Spain uses 12.5% of it’s energy from renewable energy at this time. It’s the 3rd biggest producer of wind energy in the world. (behind United States and Germany) It was the first country to install “solar power towers: PS10”. We saw these towers from a distance. The 40-story concrete tower collects sunlight from a field of over 600 huge mirrors. Their solar reflection is so powerful, we thought we were looking at a huge bridge with massive cables. We were informed that what we were seeing were the rays reflected back to the storage tower. Amazing!
